The Centre for Low and innovative Carbon Solutions (CLiCs) is a workshop, learning hub and a research and development centre based in Oxfordshire.
Not only do we offer building services for SIPs panels and other timber based products, but we provide training and employment to residents of HMP Springhill who are released to us on temporary licence, adding social value (rehabilitation activity to reduce reoffending) to any project that leaves the workshop
Sustainability is paramount to us at CLiCs. Wherever possible, we use locally sourced, high quality, renewable materials to create our products and make use of any wastage to heat our workshops using our biomass boiler. Our solar panels power our offices and we have electric vehicle charging capability on site
At CLiCs, we are committed to ensuring that any project we undertake has social value. Our partnership with HMP Springhill has afforded us the incredible opportunity to provide training and coaching rich paid employment to individuals who are released to us on temporary licence (RoTL), supporting them through the latter parts of their sentences and contributing towards offender rehabilitation. Our current Workshop Team Leader successfully completed 18 months on the RoTL programme, and was offered full time employment here at CLiCs upon his release
Our state of the art workshop enables us to take on any timber based project, large or small. We are able to process timber lengths and sheet material to required size and specification, as well as possessing CNC capabilities
